Terms and Conditions for Events

1. About Us and Acceptance of These Terms

Compliance Cafe is a brand operated by FAI Financial Associates International Ltd ( “FAI Comply”, the “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus with its head office at Kremastis Rodou 62, Office 101, 4620 Episkopi, Limassol, Cyprus.

These Terms and Conditions apply to registrations for and attendance at our conferences, seminars, webinars, workshops and other events (“Events”). By submitting an Event registration, the person making the registration confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions and, when registering another person, that they are authorised to do so.

2. Registration, Eligibility and Access

Registration provides the named attendee with a personal, non transferable right to attend the Event identified in the registration confirmation.

Attendees must provide accurate registration information. We may request reasonable evidence of identity or attendance where this is necessary for access control, security or the issuance of a CPD certificate.

We may refuse or revoke access where reasonably necessary because of:

  • materially inaccurate or fraudulent registration information;

  • abusive, discriminatory, unlawful or disruptive conduct;

  • an Event’s capacity, security or eligibility restrictions; or

  • a material breach of these Terms.

For virtual events, attendees are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary internet connectivity and hardware to participate. We are not responsible for failures arising solely from an attendee’s equipment, connection or third party network provider.

3. Event Supporters and Service Providers

Certain Compliance Cafe Events may be organised or delivered with named sponsors, supporters, speakers, venues or other third party organisations (“Event Partners”). The relevant Event page or registration form will identify any Event Partner that will receive attendee personal data, the information concerned, the purpose of the disclosure and, where applicable, a link to that organisation’s privacy notice.

We may provide Event Partners and service providers with limited personal data reasonably necessary to administer the Event - such as the attendee’s name, job title, company name and email address, for the purpose of managing admission, webinar access, security or attendee support.

We will not provide Event Partners with any attendee’s personal information for that Event Partner’s own direct marketing purposes unless the attendee has given separate, optional consent for that specific disclosure.

4. Marketing & Communications

Event administration messages, such as confirmation emails, access instructions, timetable changes and certificate information, are part of the Event service and are not optional marketing.

Marketing communications from Compliance Cafe will be sent only where permitted by applicable law. Where consent is required, we will obtain it through a separate, optional and unticked checkbox. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by using the unsubscribe facility in the communication.

5. Intellectual Property

All materials, presentations, branding, recordings, slide decks, and other content presented during the Event remain the intellectual property of Compliance Cafe or its respective Event Partners.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, attendees may access and download materials provided to them solely for their own personal or internal professional development. They may not reproduce, sell, publish, distribute, commercially exploit or make an audio or video recording of the Event without prior written permission.

6. Attendee Conduct and Event Recording

Attendees must behave professionally and must not harass other participants, disrupt the Event, unlawfully record the Event or misuse attendee contact information.

We may photograph or record an Event. Where recording is planned, attendees will be informed before or at the Event and directed to the relevant privacy information. We will provide a reasonable means for attendees to raise concerns or avoid identifiable promotional close-ups where practicable.

Testimonials, interviews and staged individual photographs will not be used for promotional purposes without appropriate permission.

7. Changes & Cancellations

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to an Event’s schedule, speakers, content, timing or delivery format (e.g., moving an in-person session online). We will notify registered attendees of material changes as soon as reasonably practicable.

Compliance Cafe may cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances without liability.

8. CPD Certificates

Where an Event is advertised as carrying CPD hours, certificates are issued only to attendees who satisfy the stated attendance, participation and identity-verification requirements (where applicable).

The attendee remains responsible for determining whether the Event and certificate satisfy the requirements of their regulator, professional body or employer. Unless expressly stated otherwise, we do not guarantee acceptance by any particular regulator or professional body.

We may correct or withdraw a certificate issued on the basis of inaccurate information, insufficient attendance or an administrative error.

9. Educational Information

Event content is provided for general educational and professional development purposes. It does not constitute legal, regulatory, tax, investment or other professional advice and should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice addressing the attendee’s particular circumstances.

Views expressed by speakers are their own unless expressly stated otherwise.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, business interruption, loss of profit or loss caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

We are not responsible for delay, disruption or cancellation caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including natural disasters, public-health restrictions, industrial action, venue closure, failure of essential infrastructure or government action.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version applicable to a registration will normally be the version accepted when that registration was submitted. We will notify registered attendees if a later change materially affects their rights or the Event.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cyprus.
